Seagate Solid State Hybrid Drive
Solid state drives are just too small for video editing, but Seagate has a solution. The Seagate Solid State Hybrid Drive combines a standard hard drive with a solid state one, giving you the best of both worlds. Available in both 750GB and 1TB models, the drive features 8GB of NAND Flash memory. The flash memory caches self-learned algorithms that have picked up on ways to learn the “user’s data access patterns in order to optimize performance.” We’re not sure how well it works, but we sure aren’t paying the dollars for a 1TB solid state drive any time soon.
