Controlling your DSLR from your iPhone or iPad isn’t really anything new, but CamRanger probably does it the best we’ve seen so far. First, you connect the CamRanger device to your Canon or Nikon DSLR via a USB cable. The device creates a WiFi network you then connect your iPad or iPhone to. From there, you can wirelessly control just about everything your camera can do. And when you capture an image, CamRanger will save it and automatically upload the thumbnail right to you. It even has a built-in time lapse mode and intervelometer.
